Peer Empowerment Project

I developed and oversee the Lafayette Peer Empowerment Project, which utilizes a small portion of the Lafayette public safety mill levy specifically for a youth leadership program.  The objective of the program is to empower underrepresented youth with the leadership skills they need to remain engaged is school, ensure their high school graduation, and, most importantly, build the life skills needed to succeed in their post-secondary education and training.   I am leading this effort because I believe that this program will have immediate and long term impact in our community, providing leadership skills and a solid preparation for post-secondary education to help our youth succeed in life.  I believe that nothing we do is more important than educating and supporting our youth in order to build a strong, compassionate, prosperous and resilient community.
